"Having a permit to carry a handgun is not about being fearful...it's about being prepared for life in today's world."

Next class is Sunday September 26, 2010.

In today’s political climate your right to get a handgun carry permit in Minnesota for self-defense may change. It is our recommendation that you take the required handgun carry class now, and get your carry permit now, before any laws restricting new Minnesota handgun carry permits are put in place.

Complete the required class to get your Minnesota pistol carry permit in 1 day!

Cost of class is $120.00 and includes range fee. A $30.00 deposit must be made to reserve your spot in the class. Every class we've done so far has sold out (10 limit) so if you want to be in on the class, it is best to make your deposit today. Call John Schulte, 612-708-2781 or email: john@gunpermittraining.com The $90.00 balance is due before the class starts.

NOTE: Your deposit is not refundable. If you can not make it to the class because of unforeseen circumstances, we will work to get you into a future class.

The instructor for the Metro area class is Erik Pakieser. Erik is certified by the American Association of Certified of Firearms Instructors (AACFI) to teach the Minnesota Permit to Carry Course. See his bio here.

Carry Permit Classes are held in Northeast Minneapolis and begin at 8:30 am sharp. Please do not be late.  The classroom portion will run until about 3:30pm, with a lunch break from noon-1pm. You do not need to bring your gun into the class, but if you do, make sure it’s unloaded and in a case. For the class you will need to have made full payment, a photo ID, and a pen and paper for notes.

After class portion is finished, we will proceed to Bill's North gun range for the qualification shoot.  Shooting should take about 1-2 hours for the entire class. You can shoot more after your qualifying shooting if you desire to. There is no restriction on the caliber of firearm you can use for this class.  It is recommended bringing the gun you intend to carry.  Any semi-automatic pistol or double-action revolver will be okay.

A rental gun for the shooting exercise is available if you don't have your own. The rental fee for a .22 caliber handgun is $20 and includes ammunition. A .38 special, .357, and .380 calibers are also available for $20.00 but you must buy your own ammunition. If you need a rental, please let me know at least one week in advance so we can make arrangements for you.

For the qualification shoot, students must load and fire the gun at a full-size silhouette from a distance of 21 feet without committing any safety violations.  They need 10-20 rounds for this.

Ear/Eye protection is required at the range.  If you don't have your own the range has rentals.

Remember, to reserve your spot in the class, a $30.00 deposit must be made.
To make payment or If you have any questions, email John Schulte. john@gunpermittraining.com

Checks should be made to the order of Quorum Security, Inc. Cash is preferred.

For those of you that have stumbled upon this site and don’t know me, my name is John Schulte. I’m a lifelong NE Minneapolis resident that came from a gun and hunting friendly family. (Fishing too!) I’ve been around guns pretty much my whole life. So long in fact, that they still gave gun safety training in your local public school. Which I believe they should start doing again.

I’m the founder and president of the Northeast Citizen Patrol (NECP) in Minneapolis www.EastsideDefender.com, and I also started and organized the current Minneapolis Guardian Angels, the safety patrol people in the red berets. So as you can imagine, I’m pretty close to the Minneapolis crime scene and the dirt balls that roam our streets. So I believe that every clear thinking and law abiding resident in the State of Minnesota should have a handgun carry permit, as well as a shotgun near their bed.

I met Erik Pakieser (your certified firearms trainer) while I was looking to organize a private handgun carry permit class for my close friends and family over 5 years ago. He did such a great job for us word got around and others started asking me when I was going to organize another handgun permit class. So I did another, then another, and so on, and so on. 2010 is our fifth year of me and Erik doing classes together.

When you take your conceal carry permit class from us, you will be in a small private class with 5 to 10 others. We hold this one day class in an undisclosed NE location that allows for a personal and intimate atmosphere, like a group of friends sitting together at a big meeting table enjoying interesting conversation on an important subject. It’s a nice way to take your permit to carry a pistol class. Make sure you reserve your seat today!

From one of our students.

"The instructor clearly explained the legal responsibilities that come with carrying a pistol, and what to expect should I need to defend myself against a deadly threat. I also received valuable advice on the practical aspects of concealed carry. The course is worthwhile even if you’re not sure you’re ready to apply for a permit."
